  • I work with a lot of clients who are new to digital media, so you’re in the right place! First, we’ll talk about your goals and/or needs - why you’re reaching out to me in the first place. I will look at your existing materials and recommend a scope of work and timeline for our work together, plus a budget. We’ll agree on our terms, and go from there!

  • I sometimes bill clients hourly, and sometimes by project. It depends on the scope of work, timeline, and the client’s budget.

  • There are so many apps and tools out there to help you create and manage your digital media content - so why hire someone like me?

    This is a great question. I think there are 3 main reasons.

    First, my expertise will help you get more bang for your buck. We all spend a lot of time on the internet, but I do it professionally. When you’re dealing with an ever-changing online world, it helps to have someone on your team whose job it is to understand it. I think about social media, the internet, and online services obsessively, and am constantly learning about the latest trends and shifts. To reach the right audiences, you need content that will help you cut through the noise. Digital consultants like me can help you figure out the best way to do that within your budget and allocated time.

    Second, I can provide well-rounded digital communications support. There’s a reason I don’t call myself a “social media consultant” or a “marketing consultant.” It’s because I look at a client’s entire digital presence holistically. I will never try to pigeonhole a client into using one type of strategy or channel, but examine a multitude of digital strategies that might work. If digital isn’t the way to go and some other kind of consultant is needed (strategic planning, for example) I will always make a recommendation.

    Third, it’s always a good idea to have a content creation partner. I can be an extra pair of eyes, a sounding board, a brainstorming buddy, or even just “the person whose job it is to focus on XYZ” so you don’t have to. For my clients running small businesses or organizations, I’ve noticed this partnership is one of the most helpful services I offer. I’ve sat in on strategic planning sessions to provide my two cents from a communications perspective, copy-edited grant proposals, and helped on any number of tasks that need an extra content expert on board.
